22nd January  2014

Large Chemistry Lecture Theatre
Cardiff University

The lecture will discuss some of the significant scientific challenges that have had to be considered in the context of the geological disposal of nuclear waste. Attention will be focused on the behaviour of the so-called engineered barrier and in particular on the clay buffer that will be used to contain the waste containers.
